Never Stop Learning

As Michelangelo aptly stated at the age of 87, "I am still learning," it prompts me to pause and wonder: How could someone at 87 want to continue learning?

I'll never forget my first meeting with Dr. Denis Waitley in 2022. He was 89 years old and working on another book! In his living room, he was also engaging in a small, intimate group discussion about tackling the meaning of cryptocurrency, AI technology, and pondering how he could be more effective with his message. What!

"DENIS! You are 89! Forget about all this stuff and just enjoy life."

But no, this man presses on. He doesn't consume news like we do, nor does he fret. When asked a tough question, it's met with a smile. There's a gleam in his eye suggesting he understands far more than any words spoken. His faith in God is resolute, and his foundation is rock solid. Humility wraps around every word that comes from his mouth. He states, "I am no better and no worse than any of you." And, we believe him!

His life mirrors that of his creator, bringing these ideas full circle. Denis, a man, a legend in many fields, and a resource for countless students, exemplifies the basic principle of self-education: Never stop learning, never stop wondering, never stop being curious, never stop asking. Let's turn that around—always be learning, wondering, being curious, and always keep asking.

When we get lazy, we lose. When we willfully move forward, we win.

On my last day of breath, I hope I can say, "I am still learning."
